Meet our keynote speaker

Kim Phuc Phan Thi

UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for the Culture of Peace

At nine years old, Kim Phuc survived a napalm attack during the Vietnam War. The photograph of her fleeing, which won the 1973 Pulitzer Prize, became one of the defining images of the war.

But that photograph was only the beginning of her extraordinary story.

Kim transformed a life marked by trauma into a mission of peace, forgiveness, and healing. Through The KIM Foundation International, she helps children affected by war, violence, and poverty.

For conference chair Lorna Curtis, Kim's story has held special meaning since she first encountered it while traveling through Vietnam in 2012. Years later, that experience inspired her to invite Kim to share her message with District 5020.

Join us in Victoria to hear an extraordinary story of resilience, forgiveness, and the power of one person to make a lasting difference.

Whether you're a current club leader, committee chair, aspiring leader, or simply looking for new ways to contribute, you'll find ideas, inspiration, and connections to help you make a difference.
