As an active Rotarian since 2003, District Governor Elect, Judith Marriott, is a Past President (2017-2018) of the Rotary Club of Courtenay and served as the District Secretary from 2019 – 2025.  She is a Paul Harris plus 3 fellow. Judith will serve as District Governor in 2027-2028.

Judith’s dedication to volunteerism extends beyond Rotary International.  She is the Treasurer of her own Club, as well as multiple other Foundations and Associations in the Comox Valley. In 2024, the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce presented her with the Business Leadership award in recognition of her community involvement and leadership. 

Judith Marriott is an elected Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia in 2023 and has been an instructor in the Business Department at North Island College in Courtenay, British Columbia for over 25 years with a focus on accounting, taxation and audit courses.  In her spare time, Judith loves to go fishing and boating. She has been a competitive rower and swimmer. She enjoys adventures such as jet packing and sky diving.

Ken Parsons

After more than 50 years as a Rotarian, Ken remains deeply committed to Rotary’s mission. A member of the Rotary Club of Lacey, Washington, he has held every Club Officer position except Secretary, several for multiple terms. He and his wife Gale are Major Donors, Level 4 Bequest Society members, and Endowment Fund Benefactors.  All of their children and grandchildren are Paul Harris Fellows.

In 1985, Ken founded the Lacey Rotary Scholarship Foundation, whose endowment now provides $100,000 annually to high school seniors. He created several recognition programs for his Club and revitalized the high school Interact Club, growing it from 8 members to more than 120.

At the District level, Ken served as Co‑Chair in 2000 to raise $500,000 for Polio Plus. He spent six years on the Foundation Committee and six years as Stewardship Global Grant Chair. He also served as Treasurer for the 2025 District Conference and served as District Finance Chair.  He is most proud of the updated Policies, Procedures, and District financial management during his term as Finance Chair.

Ken’s professional life spans three careers:  Computers & Telecommunications, Banking, and Consulting. He served on the boards of several public companies and as National Treasurer for an association of 5,000 banks. He formed a bank in 1978, established several successful businesses, and continues with investment management today.

His passion is improving his community, especially for youth and families. Ken served 14 years as Trustee and Chair of a University and 17 years as Fire District Commissioner. He supported numerous Boy Scouts in achieving their Eagle Award and contributed to many community projects. He helped found the North Thurston School District Education Foundation, which now provides approximately $350,000 annually in grants. Ken is a founding member of a Public Facility District that funded a Regional Sports Complex and expand a Hands‑On Museum, both state-of-the-art facilities.

Outside of service and leadership, Ken enjoys a wide range of adventurous pursuits.
