Greetings, District 5020!
Since I began my travels as your District Governor, my odometer has been working overtime, but my heart has never been fuller. Every club visit serves as a powerful reminder that our district isn’t just a collection of pins on a map; it is a powerhouse of Everyday People doing extraordinary things.
I am consistently blown away by the sheer creativity and grit I encounter at every stop. From the relentless hustle of your bottle-drop fundraisers to the nostalgic community charm of used-book sales, you are turning simple items into real-world solutions. I’ve walked through the bustling rows of what is arguably the Pacific Northwest’s biggest one-day swap meet, and I’ve seen the incredible coordination behind our high-energy TV Auctions and the smoky, finger-licking success of Rib Fest.
Whether it’s an elegant fundraiser dinner or a boots-on-the-ground service project, I am immensely proud of the accomplishments you are stacking up. You aren’t just members of a club; you are the Everyday Heroes making your communities—and the world—a better place. I have been deeply impressed by the unique ways you find to serve, proving that there is no limit to what a group of dedicated volunteers can achieve when they put their minds to it.
This is exactly why we are launching this new project. This newsletter is designed to be a mirror, reflecting the great stories and incredible events happening across our borders. It is a space to celebrate our wins, learn from one another’s successes, and stay connected as one Rotary family.
As you read through this first edition, I hope you feel the same pride I do. The scale of your impact is staggering, and I can’t wait to see what we achieve next. Thank you for the warm welcomes, the inspiring conversations, and for the tireless work you do every single day.
I’ll see you on the road!
Tony
