 The Rotary Foundation - Training Seminars 2009 - 10

Foundation Training is directly related to how our District performs in annual contributions to the Foundation – the more our members understand our Foundation and all the good it does in our world the more they will be inclined to support what is our very own charity.

District Training Seminars are open to all Rotarians with the primary audience being Club Foundation Chairs, Club Presidents, Club President-elects, Area Foundation Representatives, Assistant Governors and of course, new members to Rotary. All interested members are invited to attend.

Attendance is required of any club planning on requesting a District Matching Grant or Global Grant in 2010-11.

Please announce to your club that Rotary District 5020 will conduct Rotary Foundation Grant Management Seminars on Saturdays during the months of April and May. The schedule is:

Details of events.

April 17th 9:00 AM Old Town Bistro, Silverdale, WA Brian Beagle twobees2@earthlink.net

April 24th 9:00 AM Veterans Museum, Chehalis, WA Leon Bowman kare@localaccess.com

May 1st 9:00 AM VIU, Nanaimo, BC Linda Murray lindjmurray@shaw.ca

May 8th 10:00 AM Mary Windspeare Centre, Sidney, BC Dennis Sutton djsutton@shaw.ca

Each session will last approximately 5 hours and will cover a variety of topics to comply with the training outline specified by The Rotary Foundation. The District is covering the cost of this series of training seminars, but we do need clubs to RSVP so that a accurate estimate for meal purposes can be obtained. RSVPs should be sent to the designated contact.

Attendees should review the Grant Management Manual available from the RI website: www.rotary.org. The manual is also available from your President-elect on the CD provided at PETS. Your area Assistant Governor and Area Foundation Representative also have copies of the CD.

Below you will find the latest versions in pdf of the Club Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and District 5020 Rotary Foundation Grant Guidelines. The current club President and President-elect both need to sign this version of the MOU in order for your club to be certified by the District as Qualified to participate in District Matching Grants or Global Grants.
