The Rotary Foundation - Annual Fund

It is the goal of Rotary International to have every Rotarian a Sustaining Member by 2005.

The Annual Program Fund:

  • Contributions made by Club Members

    • Clubs or Districts provide the necessary funds for operation of the Rotary Foundation Programs

    • The funds are invested for three years and then fifty percent (50%) of the donations are returned to the District as District Designated Funds (DDF).

    • The other fifty percent (50%) of the funds

      • World Fund

        • to support humanitarian programs via matching grants

        • support the Foundation educational programs and

        • funds programs such as the Group Study Exchange (GSE).

      • The interest earned from the three (3) year invested funds is used to cover the administrative costs of the Foundation.  (So after three years, the whole contribution is used to finance the Rotary Foundation Activities either through the District Designated Funds (DDF) or the World Fund.)

    • APF Area Contribution Report:

  • Paul Harris Fellowships

    • Recognition for contributions of $1000 US or more to the Rotary Foundation

  • Multiple Paul Harris Fellowships

    • Subsequent donations of $1000 US or more qualifies the member for Multiple Paul Harris recognition and a pin with a sapphire for each additional $1000 US.

  • Sustaining Memberships

    • Random donations through various fund raising sources toward Paul Harris Fellowships are unpredictable making it difficult to commit to future Foundation Activities. As a result, The Rotary Foundation has instituted the Sustaining Membership program to recognize members who contribute a minimum of $100 US per year as Sustaining Members.

    • This commitment helps ensure a reliable source of funding that can be planned for future programs with assurance that the funds will be available.

  • Paul Harris Society

    • Each donor who annually contributes $1,000 US or more to The Rotary Foundation will be awarded membership in the Paul Harris Society of District 5020. Society members will receive special District wide recognition, and will receive a distinctive Gold and Blue emblem which can be worn with their Rotary pin.

  • Major Donors and other contributions

    • Multiple Paul Harris recognition can accumulate until $10,000 US has been contributed to the Foundation. At this level, the donor is recognized as a Major Donor to the Foundation and is given a personalized crystal and simulated diamond circle pin for both the donor and spouse that correspond to the appropriate contribution level.

    • Major donations can also be given to the Permanent Fund.
