District 5020
District Friendship Exchanges
During the Rotary year 2007-2008 Rotary clubs in District 5020 will be encouraged to plan friendship exchanges with other clubs in this district. Through these exchanges, Rotarians will have opportunities to meet other Rotarians, cultivate new friendships, and learn more about Rotary in other parts of our district.
This is not really a new effort in our district, for informal district friendship exchanges have been successfully organized from time-to-time within the past five years. What may be new is an organized plan to encourage such exchanges in the months ahead.
The District Friendship Exchange Committee usually organizes one or two “overseas” exchanges with districts somewhere in the Rotary world. A subcommittee of this district committee will assist clubs with exchanges within our district. This subcommittee will simply facilitate the process of clubs making arrangements for a friendship exchange.
The subcommittee will assist district exchanges in the following manner. Every Rotary club president in the district can complete a district form which signifies that the club wishes to participate in a district friendship exchange. On this form a club indicates who the club friendship contact will be, and when (Fall, Winter, Spring, or open) and where in the district (district area, or open) the club would like to do an exchange.
These completed forms from participating clubs are sent to the friendship exchange subcommittee whose members match the requests to participate in a friendship exchange. The subcommittee will inform both clubs, and the clubs will be responsible for making arrangements to visit one another.
The District Friendship Exchange Subcommittee Co-Chairs are
