Home
Hospitality:
Home Hospitality is a no-charge hosted
event where you enjoy the home atmosphere and camaraderie of dining in a local
Rotarian home with other Rotarians from across the district. Accommodated on a
limited space available basis only.
Mt. St. Helen’s
Tour:
Mt St. Helen’s - 30th
anniversary of the eruption: This 6˝ hour pre-event activity departs on Friday
at 7:00 A.M. includes a charter bus trip to the mountain, breath taking views;
the ability to walk the trails and entrance to the visitors center (don’t miss
the movie of the original eruption) complete with narrator (on the bus) and a
box lunch.
Golf Tournament:
Golf Tournament– Friday 8:00 A.M. tee
time – 18 holes of golf at the Mint Valley Championship Golf Course in
Longview. Shotgun start - 4-person format - lunch and prizes.
Historical
Tour:
Historical Tour – Saturday 8:30 –
Noon. The tour of Longview and Kelso will include stops at the Cowlitz County
Museum, where you will view a segment from the PBS film of how Longview was
established. You will then see the huge 1923 pumps that protect Longview from
high tidewaters and swollen rivers. Travel past the largest of Weyerhaeuser’s
lumber mills, circle around Lake Sacajawea (a lake and a park made from a
swamp), see RA Long High School, named for Mr. Long, the founder of Longview,
relax in the newly refurbished Columbia Theatre and be entertained for 30
minutes before returning to the Red Lion Hotel.
